Goodbye song

From: A Child's Seasonal Treasury, compiled & written by Betty Jones
Lyrics and music: Anon

Goodbye now, goodbye now
We leave you now and home we go
Goodbye now, goodbye now
Goodbye to all of you

It's time to go or we'll be late
Let [Martin] lead us through the gate
Goodbye now, goodbye now
We'll see you soon again

You could sing this as a general goodbye song with everyone sitting, or take advantage of the lyrics "lead us through the gate" to make this into a "London Bridge" sort of song, making a gate out of two parents, or two children, or a parent and a child -- either holding their hands forming a gate, or holding for example a piece of cloth that forms a gate. I hope this rather long-winded description of something quite simple makes sense...
